COPPERAS GroupArtProjects present work from 5 young contemporary artists whose work represents different approaches to the landscape genre. Each artist chosen to exhibit reconstructs the romantic image of the painter in nature, taking the traditional landscape artists representation of the ‘idyllic’ and ‘the sublime’, and moving it into ideas of artifice and the loss of the ideal.
Landscapes are to be looked at, thought about, worked in, lived in and there is something for everyone all around us. We aim to present the idea that ‘landscape’, as a subject is still relevant in the present day and more so, as we slip into the future.
We will launch Modern Landscapes on Saturday 20th November at 12 o’clock midday; all 6 will be there to talk to, and to present their work.
