The compARTment 2 week studio project.
Since we’ve been in the Open Market we’ve loved it when people come down and talk to us, and enjoy bouncing ideas of possible uses of space and ideas for events with other enthusiastic people. Being artists and makers ourselves we know how exciting it is to work with/ alongside other creative people, and the imaginative, unexpected and brilliant outcomes which can result.
Inspired by these conversations compARTment are planning a two week project from 17th to 30th September. In the first week one stall will be transformed into the studio space, and in the second will be held an exhibition of the work produced. This will allow you lovely people to meet other artists, bounce ideas off one another, be motivated by the unique environment of the Open Market, and exhibit work in the space which stimulated it.
This is a really great opportunity to engage with other artists in a way that many of us don’t get the chance to, and be a part of a fast paced creative environment.
Studio space has been something that compARTment have been keen to achieve to build up a lively artistic community to engage and uplift the market.
We’re looking for 5-6 artists and makers to fill the space. Because of the number of people involved we are able to keep the cost low at only £10 per artist per week, therefore £20 for the whole project!
